Implementation

To ensure the success of MODALIS² project, it will be organised in two runs:

1. the first one focuses on gen 3b batteries cells which will allow the development of the simulation toolchain on a more mature
2. a second run will be then applied on Gen 4b which is even more challenging.
    

For each generation, an iterative process will be applied within MODALIS² project, in order to limit the risks and ensure a proper capitalisation of project innovations:

A first design is manufactured to allow initial characterization and predictive models calibration and validation. Then tools are developed based on these models and validated with initial cells. Once validated, tools are used to provide improved material and cell designs which will be used to produce improved cells. Newly produced cell will be finally characterized to validate the newly developed model and also validate its improvement, compared to the first generation.
