Work Package Structure

WP Structure

WP1

Cell and material production

Leader UMICORE, other partners: SAFT, SOLVAY,SISW

Its goal is to produce the cells on which we will perform the tests that would allow us to validate the modelling results. Gen 3 (50 cells of 15 Ah ) and Gen 4 (~25 lab scale cells) cells would be produced. Once the cells are produced a feedback loop for Gen 4 cells would be made to optimize Gen 4 cell production and 25 optimized Gen 4 cells would be produced.

WP2

Interfaces and cells phenomenological modelling

Leader IFPEN, other partners: SISW, UMICORE, SOLVAY, CRF, GEM, UNITO

The objective of this working package is to provide mechanisms submodels as well as parameters necessary to develop the battery models in WP5.

WP3

Cell & Component characterization methodologies

Leader SAFT, other partners: IFPEN, SISW, UMICORE, SOLVAY, SAGCT, CRF, GEM, UNITO

The WP3 objective is to characterized active material, solid state electrolyte and cell for model purpose. Characterisation covers performance, ageing and safety aspects.

WP4

Validation

Leader CRF, other partners: IFPEN, SAFT, SISW, UMICORE, SOLVAY, SAGCT

This WP is led by CRF. Its purpose is to define the expected validity domains of the models, define the relevant testing protocols to validate the developed models and validate the developed simulation tools based on experimental and modelling results.

WP5

Development of a chain of simulation tools for faster design

Leader SISW, other partners: IFPEN, SAFT, UMICORE SOLVAY, GEM

The goal of the Workpackage 5 is to achieve the required progress in the field of battery dynamic simulation, from battery technology range supported, to improved prediction and multi-scale representativeness. Moreover, the new toolchain will mandatory support the models from WP2.

WP6

Communication & Dissemination

Leader K&S, other partners: all

This WP goals are to ensure efficient dissemination and exploitation of MODALIS² results through publications, scientific events. This WP will also ensure inter project coordination in the H2020 programme.

WP7

Project management

Leader IFPEN, other partners: all

This WP gathers the tasks related to the project management to ensure the achievement of its objectives.
